It’s Your Own Decision

Deciding to go through with cancer treatment is a big deal. Depending on where you are in the process, there are many, many different emotions to feel, like confusion, anger, worries, sadness, or even resilience. And these emotions can either come and go or be felt all at the same time.

The most important thing is not letting anyone else tell you how you are ”supposed” to feel. Whatever your feelings are, they’re all valid, and everyone’s cancer journey is different.

You can and will probably hear, see, or read much information. Some of it is good, some of it bad. And way too many people will tell you without any consent, without any qualification or experience, what you need to do about your cancer journey. They may even come to you with all kinds of holistic scams, alternative medicine books, or religious beliefs you don’t need or want.

So don’t let anyone or anything stop you from going on your cancer journey your own way, on your own path. Don’t forget that you have experts, doctors, research, science, oncology teams, and this community for a reason.

This is your body, your decisions. Only you can decide what’s best for you.
And remember, you can always get a second opinion when needed. That’s ok, too.
