Body Talks

Listening to your body is an essential part of self-care. Only you know what your body is trying to tell you.

That’s why it is important to take note of any new symptoms and report any changes to your medical team, especially when you are receiving cancer treatments or taking medications.

It may feel natural to think new symptoms can simply be side effects of treatment. However, some symptoms may indicate a separate health issue that may need to be looked at.

If you are concerned about new symptoms, you may want to keep track of a couple of points to discuss with the medical team, such as:

  • A list of the new symptoms
  • When they first started
  • What helps ease them
  • What makes them worse
  • List any prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins or
  • herbal products you are taking.
  • Make a list of questions for the medical team, so you don’t forget the main points.
