According to oncologists, anger is one of the first emotions patients express upon diagnosis.
That makes sense.
Living in twenty-four-seven cancer mode can take its toll on the best of people. Additionally, certain cancer treatments may alter hormone levels or the brain’s chemical composition, resulting in mood swings, irritation, or aggression.
Even though anger is typically considered a bad emotion, it can have advantages for cancer patients. Some people constructively use anger to motivate them to fight back.
So, if used correctly, anger is not only completely legitimate, it can also be helpful, and you are entitled to it.
If you are experiencing intense anger or mood swings that are interfering with your daily life, discuss this with your healthcare team. They can evaluate your situation and guide you to manage these emotions or explore alternative treatment options.
