The Clinical Trial Team – Belong
In a UK clinical trial, researchers examined whether exercise could improve different health outcomes among women after breast cancer surgery who are at risk for upper limb complications.
During the study, usual care was compared to the same care plus a structured exercise program.
The program included stretching, strengthening, physical activity, and behavioral techniques.
It was found that the structured and progressive exercise reduced upper limb disability one-year post-treatment.
